I recently took part in a powerful sacred feminine ritual known as the Womb Initiation, also called the Rite of the Womb or Kismay Karpay. The word “Karpay” comes from the Quechua language and means “to transmit”. This energy transmission initiates a profound shift in consciousness, reconnecting women with the sacred power and creative energy of the womb.
The Rite of the Womb is one of the Munay-Ki Rites—a series of energetic transmissions rooted in the shamanic traditions of the Peruvian Andes and Amazon jungle. These rites guide us through an evolutionary journey, aligning us with the rhythms of nature, deepening our connection to ourselves, and expanding our spiritual awareness.
Woven into the sacred fabric of Andean cosmology, the Karpay Ceremony recognizes the universe as a living, interconnected web of energy. It serves as a powerful rite to attune the initiate to the energies of nature, the celestial realms, and unseen spiritual forces. This initiation is entrusted to a female shaman, passed down through a lineage of women and guided by the spirit of the Amazon. It is a ceremony of healing, balance, and restoration—awakening the divine feminine and restoring harmony to our creative center, the womb.

The ceremony I attended was led by my dear friend Marija Čukman, an experienced energy medicine healer with nearly two decades of dedicated study and practice. Marija combines energy healing and spiritual psychology, continuously evolving her work in alignment with new levels of consciousness and energetic understanding.
For years, Marija has been guiding ceremonies and rituals that honor major life transitions, with a focus on feminine initiations and new phases of personal evolution.
Here are Marija’s words about the Kismay Karpey, Sacred feminine ritual:
“An energetic initiation of the sacred womb space into its primordial state – into the energy of creation, into the energy of life creation on all levels, not only physiologically and reproductively (although the act itself definitely contributes to both enhancing and cleansing the womb space if the intention is to welcome a new soul, to invite fertility).
The womb is the primary principle of creation, just like its physical location on the body – the second chakra. It is an energetic space of creation – the primal energy carried by the feminine aspect. It doesn’t matter whether the womb is physically present in a woman or not (e.g., after a hysterectomy), because it is an energetic space, an energetic principle, and it doesn’t matter whether it is physically active or not, because energetically it is always active.
The womb is also a space where women accumulate all their negative experiences and store them within, if they are unaware of it. Within it are also energetically stored the experiences of the ancestors in the bloodline. Stored experiences of sorrow and fear energetically block the optimal functioning of the second chakra system.”
Gratitude
Participating in this Kismay Karpay Womb Healing Ceremony was a deeply moving and transformational experience. I feel profoundly grateful to have witnessed and received this sacred initiation alongside a circle of incredible women.
💫 May this sacred womb rite awaken the creative essence in all women and guide us on a path of healing, empowerment, and soul remembrance.
Thank you, Marija, and thank you to all the women who held this space and shared in this sacred journey.l!
